Dear Friend, Student, Client, or Future student or client,
Wishing you a Joyful June!
and a Superlative Summer!
Welcome to the June edition of Verbal Impact. This is a monthly newsletter, published usually the first week of the month.
It not my intention to send spam if you do not wish to be on this mailing list, please send me an email with “Unsubscribe” in the subject. But first, peruse it and see if how much you enjoy it.
This newsletter will be a little different this month. I will publish the whole thing on my website and the article on my blog. Thank you for reading.
The theme for the month is transition. The only sure thing in life is change. We can embrace it or struggle to hold it off, but it eventually befalls every one of us. Last issue I informed my readers about the termination of the On Campus Intervention Program for which I have worked for 4 years. I have decided to move on now, rather than later, so instead of asking for your sympathy, I am forging ahead to bigger and better things. I now have the opportunity to concentrate on my own business, better know as, Enlightened Hypnosis. If you know anyone interested in becoming a hypnotist, learning self-hypnosis, or changing a behavior using hypnosis, please refer them to me, or just send them this website! Thank you.

[1] Quotation of the Month: Another great quotation:
Marianne Williamson, Bold Spiritually-awakened Author We can always choose to perceive things differently. You can focus on what's wrong in your life, or you can focus on what's right.
[2] The word of the month is superlative. An excellent word meaning the most extreme level of comparison, as for an adjective (example: highest) or adverb (example: most); unsurpassed, supreme, excessive or exaggerated. This word comes for the Latin word, superlatus, which means to raise high.
[3] Book Review. I just finished reading a book by Marianne Williamson, called The Age of Miracles. It’s about the opportunities for personal growth and development for baby boomers who are now advancing into the unknown territory of “old age.” The subtitle is “Embracing the New Mid-life.” So instead of a mid-life crisis, you can have a mid-life epiphany! I have found this book to be truly inspirational especially during this time of transition:
“This is not the end. It is the beginning…”
“Growing older just happens; growing wise is something else again. The challenge of age is not to skip life’s disappointments, but to transcend them. We transcend them by learning the lessons they taught us, however powerful…”
“The miracle of midlife is that nothing that happened before this moment has any bearing on what’s possible now, except that what you learned from it can be fuel for a magnificent future.”
Speaking of healthy aging…great vitamin.
[4] Interview of the Month. Temporarily on hold.
[5] Superlative Summer Article.
Friday the Thirteenth
Have a superlative day!
Today is Friday the Thirteenth. Are you superstitious? Most will answer, no, of course not, knock on wood! But there are those among us who are triscadecaphobic! From the Greek, naturally, the word derives from several Greek words, trisca signifies 3, deca, ten, and phobia, fear. I am sure I saw this word in a Charlie Brown cartoon, years ago, but my spell check doesn’t like it, nor is it in my dictionary. But there must be a word for fear of Friday the Thirteenth! It doesn’t come up often, but when it does, it is surely handy to have the right word for it.
I am sure I have seen this word before. But it is not in my Unabridged Dictionary. Well, it just goes to prove how reliable the human memory is. If anyone else has seen it, please let me know, so I won’t chalk it up to old-timers disease. Thanks!
[6] The next meeting of the Tampa Bay Chapter of NGH will take place on June 16, at 7 pm, in Tarpon Springs. Dr. Ernest Panza will be sharing his secrets about How to Get Along with Difficult People. Everyone will receive a personality profile. Please bring a snack to share. Details are found on www.ngh.net under local chapter events.
Thank you for reading!
Wishing you enlightenment, encouragement and empowerment!
