Are you able to stay calm, happy and positive during difficult economic times?
It's pretty easy to be happy when everything is going right. Unfortunately, it seems that all the news is bad news, especially regarding employment and finances. And we often find ourselves around people who revel in the misery and spread the negativity!
Four Ways to be more positive:
#1: Failures (Valuable Learning Experiences)
It is acceptable to shout or cry when we experience pain. But we have to be careful not to let that pain transform itself into fear and paralyze us. Without pain or failure, there is so much we would not learn and experience. Treat each failure and painful experience as a valuable lesson you have learned.
#2: Negative People
Being negative is contagious! If possible, try to avoid people whose negative energy brings you down. Sometimes people say mean things about others to make themselves feel better - these people have very low self esteem. Constant complainers and whiners are annoying, and waste your time. You don't have to get caught up in their negativity. Stop the conversation when it starts or put a positive twist on it. Many times the constant complainer will move on to someone else who will listen to them. Disassociate with people like this as much as you can.
You can make a a conscious choice to be optimistic, as thinking optimistically is a habit that can be learned. You don't have to be a pessimist simply because your family and friends are pessimistic. Rather than perpetuating pessimism, you can choose to be around positive people and use positive self-talk and affirmations. This is how you can learn to be more optimistic and positive.
#3: Acceptance
Change can be good or bad, yet both kinds are stressful. AND change is the only constant in lives. There will be many times when we are in situations and environments we cannot control. Once we recognize and accept that a situation or an environment is one that we cannot control, we are often more able to tolerate it, and then change what we CAN about it - our attitude.
#4: Positivity or Optimism (Always look on the Bright side)
There is constant pain and misery in the world. You can see it on television any time of the day. Pay attention to how much negative news you observe every day. If you wrap yourself up with all of the negativity and destruction going on around the world, it will most definitely bring you down.
Having a positive attitude is a choice. It is a choice we have to make every day in every moment, because we have to decide how we will react to the situations and people in our lives. It is often difficult to remain positive when situations or people are negative and pulling us down, unless we focus on staying positive. We always have the ability to change three things: our attitude, our thoughts, and our behavior.
Amy Tan said, "If you can't change your Fate, Change your Attitude!"
And remember, you can change your attitude, as well as, your behavior with hypnosis!
